What's new

Edit > Config > Midi Out switches Discovery's VST MIDI Out.
MIDI CC 30 and 31 now use full range instead one number for each oscillator.
Overall bugfixes.
Manual revision.

OS X cross-preset compatibility between PowerPC and Intel projects.
Export as FXP/FXB first before updating and import into R3.1.
Overall bugfixes.

You know, I consider myself fairly computer/internetz savvy but I still haven't gotten into the RSS thang... maybe I should try it!

Hello,

We have received a response from Novation:

Automap uses a Learn system which looks at the parameters from a plug-in which are enabled for Automation and automatically assigns them to midi controls - since it looks like the Waveform select button doesn't support Automation, there is at this stage no way to control it using Automap, unless you were to enable automation support for button controls at your end.

Automap however does feature a MidiClient - which is essentially a virtual midi device which can be used to send standard Midi CC messages. It is therefore possible to control the waveform shape, or any other Midi CC controls using this feature.

Aside from this, all other Automap features seem compatible with Discovery

We will try to address MIDI CC 30 and 31 Oscillator Type to cover full range in future versions.

I'll keep popping in to see if there's any news.

I'm hoping there's going to be an update of the Automap software soon as there are quite a few 'quirks' with different plug-ins. If Novation can get it working as good as the concept it would be perfect!

Thanks George.... that would be great... Discovery is a fantastic synth that would be perfect to control via the Remote.

Hello,

Discovery_Data folder goes to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/. It shouldn't matter if your system has got a different name for the boot hard disk.

Once it's placed, Discovery should load their presets correctly.

For me, the Discovery synth defaults to a simple saw wave sound-- not very impressive. I'm considering buying, but I won't until i hear some interesting sounds.

I have tried putting the discovery_data folder everywhere, and still I get no presets - nothing. And yes, I put the folder in "Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ " My main harddrive isn't called "Macintosh HD" though, does that matter?? I have a custom name for it.

Can I ask why Thrillme will remain locked away from the world? Just trying to understand the reasoning behind it, given that there's at least some interest in it out there.

Would you consider perhaps releasing the source code or something similar, so that others can build on the plugin?

The limiter section is nice but the EQ section has a really unique sound that I can't replicate with any other plugin, and to me is indispensable...

The plugin also has a bug with high (>44.1 khz) samplerate operation, which would be handy to see fixed...

Thanks for the information... even though I'm not sure if there's a way to mix the cc information with the automapping.
